Fatwa of Sheikh Al-Akbar Mahmood Shaltoot

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MERCIFUL

Text of the Verdict (Fatwa) Issued by His Excellency

Shaikh al-Akbar Mahmood Shaltoot,

Head of the al-Azhar University,

on Permissibility of Following "al-Shia al-Imamiyyah" School of Thought

His Excellency was asked:

Some believe that, for a Muslim to have religiously correct worship and dealing, it is necessary to follow one of the four known schools of thought, whereas, "al-Shia al-Imamiyyah" school of thought is not one of them nor "al-Shia al-Zaidiyah." Do your Excellency agree with this opinion, and prohibit following "al-Shia al-Imamiyyah al-Ithna Ashariyyah" school of thought, for example?

His Excellency replied:

1) Islam does not require a Muslim to follow a particular madh'hab (school of thought). Rather, we say: every Muslim has the right to follow one of the schools of thought which has been correctly narrated and its verdicts have been compiled in its books. And, everyone who is following such madhahib [schools of thought] can transfer to another school, and there shall be no crime on him for doing so.

2) The Ja'fari school of thought, which is also known as "al-Shia al- Imamiyyah al-Ithna Ashariyyah" (i.e., The Twelver Imami Shi'ites) is a school of thought that is religiously correct to follow in worship as are other Sunni schools of thought.

Muslims must know this, and ought to refrain from unjust prejudice to any particular school of thought, since the religion of Allah and His Divine Law (Shari'a) was never restricted to a particular school of thought. Their jurists (Mujtahidoon) are accepted by Almighty Allah, and it is permissible to the "non-Mujtahid" to follow them and to accord with their teaching whether in worship (Ibaadat) or transactions (Mu'aamilaat).

قال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه <وآله> وسلم : يا علي أنت قسيم الجنة والنار يوم القيامة
.
(Shura k Hawale Se Maula Ali (as) k Aik Kalaam ko Dar ul Qutni ne Reewayat Naqal kari) Rasool Allah (saww) ne farmaya k "Ya Ali! Aap Jannat aur Jahannum k Taqseem karne wale hai Qayamat k Din".

Ab Agur Koi Kahe k Es ki Sanad Zaeef hai to es ka jawaab ye hai k Muhammad ibne Mansoor Al Tusi ne kaha k Mai Ahmad ibne Hanbal k sath tha to aik Shaks ne Kaha k Abu Abdullah (Ahmad ibne Hanbal):

Aap es hadees k bare mai kya kehthe hai k Ali (as) Jahannum k Taqseem Karne Wale hai.

Ahmad ibne Hanbal ne jawaab deeya es mai aise kya cheez hai Jis ki Wajah se tum es hadees ka Inkaar kar rahe ho. Kya tum ne ye hadees nahee Dhekhi Jis Mai Rasool Allah (saww) ne farmaya

"Ae Ali! Aap se Koi Muhabbat nahee karega magar Momin aur koi Bugh nahee karega magar Munafiq."

Os Shaks ne Jawab Deeya "Beshak"
.
Ahmad ibne Hanbal ne kaha to batao k Momin Kaha jaienge?

Os Shaks ne Kaha Jannat mai.

Ahmad ibne Hanbal ne kaha aur batao k MUnafiq kaha jaienge?

Qazi Ayyaz farmate hai:

قتل علي، وأنّ أشقاها الذي يخضب هذه من هذه، أي لحيته من رأسه، وأنّه قسيم النّار; يدخل أولياءه الجنّة وأعدائه النار
.
(Hazrat Muhammad (Saww) ki Ghaib ki Khabrein Maloom hone ki Daleel k Taur par farmate hai ) Hazrat Ali ki Shahadat ki aur ye k Ummat ka Bad Bakht taren Un k Sar k Khoon se Raish ko Rangega aur ye k Ali Jahannum k Taqseem karne wale hai, apne Dostoun ko Bahisht mai aur apne Dushmanoun ko Jahannum mai Dakhil Farmaienge.

Eid-e-Zehra is a day of celebration, a day in which even the Holy
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) rejoiced! This day holds importance due to
numerous events that transpired on this day in history.

One of the events which is marked on
this day is the beginning of the Imamate of our 12th Imam, al-Hujjah
ibn al-Hasan (may Allah hasten his return). His father, Imam Hasan
al-Askari (AS) left this world on the 8th and, immediately after, his
son took over the mantle of leadership. His leadership has spanned over
1,171 years, and as he is the living and present Imam, we have the
potential of being his ‘companions’ just as great personalities such as
Bilal, Salman, Abu Dharr, Maitham and countless others were companions
of their living Imams. However, we need to strive to emulate such
individuals and work towards being our Imam’s chosen helpers and
assistants.
The day also marks the first time that our 4th Imam
smiled and rejoiced after the tragic events of Kerbala in which he saw
his entire family and loyal friends murdered in cold blood by Ibne
Ziyaad, Umar ibne Sa’d, Yazid ibne Mu’awiyah and the others who were
responsible for the crimes. History notes that it was on 9 Rabi’ul
Awwal the year 67 A.H. when Mukhtar sent the head of Ubaydallah Ziyad
to Imam Zainul Abedeen who was in Makkah at the time.

Itis noted that the Prophet of Islam himself was seen smiling and
‘celebrating’ on this day while in the presence of Imams Ali, Hasan and
Husain and said, “It is on this day that Allah will destroy your
enemies and the enemies of your grandfather and it is on this day when
Allah will accept the actions of your Shi’a and those who love you.
This is the day when the words of Allah came true where He said (in the
Qur‘an): ‘So those are the houses fallen down because they were
unjust.’ (27:52) And this is the day when the Pharaoh (Firawn) of the
time of the Ahlul Bayt was destroyed ...”


Well Eid e zehra (sa) wa tajposhie imam e zamana (atfs) mubarak to evry 1ne nd Allah (swt) provide us one more year to participate in tha majalise..

This blog which m writing here is extreme hardship of my work nd this is truely a Gift of mine to Shiapal user..

I am writing this article and praying to my Imam e Waqt Hujjat e Khuda Wali e Mutlaq Maula Imam e Zamana(aleh salam) that He may do my intercession on the day of Qiyammah by means of this article.

For importance of Wilayah, I cannot write articles because Wilayat is a Mansab of Maula Ali(as) which was given to Him by Allah. We cannot even count the Fazail of Maula and cannot describe importance of Wilayah in words.

From Quran:

Surah Maeda Ayat 67

According to all Tafasir of Quran Surah Maeda is the last Surah of Quran revealed.

Even mother of believers Aisha (la) said that Yes Maeda is the last Surah of Quran which was revealed,

يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ

Translation:

O Prophet, Deliver the message which has been revealed on you, If you do not perform the action then you have not delivered any message of His Risalah. Allah will protect you from the bad-intentions of people. Verily Allah does not guide those who reject.


This Ayah is the biggest proof of Wilayat e Ali(as) being WAJIB on the nation.

Zaid bin Arqam says that Prophet(saww) said on the Day of Ghadir, Allah sent Jibrail to me and has ordered me to announce Ali(as) as my Brother, Wasi, Khalifa and Imam after me.

Tafseer e Furat Kofi Page 362

Allah says in Surah Baqara Ayat 283

وَلاَ تَكْتُمُواْ الشَّهَادَةَ وَمَن يَكْتُمْهَا فَإِنَّهُ آثِمٌ قَلْبُهُ وَاللّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ

Don’t conceal a Shahadat(which is specific), any one who does conceal a Shahadat, Surely he will be sinful.

Allamah Syed Ali Hairi write in Tafseer that it refers to Wilayat e Ali(as).

Tafseer e Safi Vol 1 Page 176 it is written that the Shahadat which has been concealed in this Ayah refers to Wilayat e Ali(as).


Allah says in Surah Baqara Ayat 140

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَادَةً عِندَهُ مِنَ اللّهِ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

Who is more Zalim then that person who conceal that Shahadat which has been done obligatory by Allah.
