Surah Al-Hajj – Verse 30

 

<Shakir 22:30> That (shall be so); and whoever respects the sacred ordinances of Allah, it is better for him with his Lord; and the cattle are made lawful for you, except that which is recited to you, therefore avoid the uncleanness of the idols and avoid false words,

Surah Al-Mu'minoon – Verse 3

 

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ {1

<Shakir 23:1> Successful indeed are the believers,

 

الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ {2

<Shakir 23:2> Who are humble in their prayers,

 

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ {3

<Shakir 23:3> And who keep aloof from what is vain,

Surah Al-Furqan – Verse 72

 

 

وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِاللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا كِرَامًا {72

 

<Shakir 25:72> And they who do not bear witness to what is false, and when they pass by what is vain, they pass by nobly.

Surah Luqman – Verse 6

 

<Yusufali 31:6> But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.

Surah An-Najm – Verse 60 & 61

 

وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ {60

<Yusufali 53:60> And will ye laugh and not weep,-

 

وَأَنتُمْ سَامِدُونَ {61

<Yusufali 53:61> Wasting your time in vanities?

Surah Bani-Israel – Verse 36

 

 

وَلاَ تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ إِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُولـئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْؤُولاً

 

<Shakir 17:36> And follow not that of which you have not the knowledge; surely the hearing and the sight and the heart, all of these, shall be questioned about that.

Hadees of Imam (A.S) prohibiting Album & Singing

 

Amirul Momineen Ali (a.s.) says,

 

"Angels do not even enter a house that has wine, drum, tambourine or a flute. Even the prayers of the inhabitants of this house are unacceptable. They are deprived of barakat."

 

"Singing creates hypocrisy and causes poverty."

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) said,

 

"Singing is that sin which has been promised a penalty of fire (Hell) by Allah."

Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) reports from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) that he said:

 

"I prohibit for you dancing and playing flute, drums and tabla."

Imam Ali ar-Reza (a.s.):

 

"Then even learning to sing or play Album and teaching it, to sing and play music, to be paid for these things or to be in any way engrossed in these vices is Haraam."
